Chapter 10

Molly thought she seemed a little less invisible to some of the other boys.
(p.74)

How does it feel to be invisible?  What could Molly's teammates have done to make her less invisible?  What things could Molly have done?

How can we help people at MERMS feel "less invisible"?

It feels like nobody cares or pays attention to you and it feels like you have no friends. Molly’s teammates could have invited her to play catch, talked to her, ask her questions and include her. Molly could have been less shy and want to make friends with the boys, other than just Lonnie.

We can help people feel less invisible by including them in games, saying hi, being nice, making them feel like part of the school.

It feels like everyone hates you and you don't even have a friend to back you up. Molly's teammates should have included her in the group. Even if shes a girl they should not think less of her. Molly could have could have sat at a full table at lunch but made sure she wasn't invading.
We can invite them to play and invite them to our tables. And stick up for them when they need it.

    1. Being invisible is like nobody cares what you are, what you think and/or who you are.
    2. Molly's teammates could have made her fell less invisible by be as good a friend as Lonnie was to Molly, or they could just treat her like a normal person instead of being sexist.
    3. Molly could have stood up for herself, and show the other boys that she can play baseball just as good as they can, maybe even better.
    4. We can include them in games, invite them to sit next to you at lunch and, and make them want to come to school every day instead of not wanting to get out of bed in the morning.
